Reviewing climate projects involves navigating heavy documentation. The evidence for a project's quality exists in Project Design Documents (PDDs), monitoring reports, registry entries, and spreadsheets, but retrieving specific data points for stakeholders is a manual, time-consuming process.
We built ChatPDD to solve the retrieval problem. It allows sustainability managers to query climate project documentation and get immediate, source-backed answers without searching through PDFs.

The Challenge: Data Access
Sustainability managers are the central point of contact for questions from the board, finance, legal, and procurement. While the questions vary from buffer pool mechanics to community benefits, the answers are often buried in hundreds of pages of technical files.
Locating the exact paragraph to support a claim slows down due diligence and complicates audits. When a CFO or legal team asks for the source of a claim, "I think it’s in the PDD" is not a sufficient answer.
How ChatPDD Works
ChatPDD is a search and extraction tool integrated into the Senken platform. It allows you to type a specific question about a project and receive a direct answer based strictly on the project's official documentation.
It handles both high-level context and technical detail:
- Methodology: "Which methodology and version is applied here?"
- Risk: "Explain the permanence risk and buffer pool contribution."
- Impact: "Summarize the latest monitoring results regarding community jobs."
Verified, Not Generated
Unlike standard AI tools that may "hallucinate" or generate generic text, ChatPDD is grounded in the project's actual data.
- Citations: Every answer is accompanied by a citation indicating the source document.
- Direct Links: You can click the citation to open the document at the precise page and paragraph where the information is located.
- Audit Trail: If the information is not in the documentation, the tool will state that the data is missing rather than guessing.
Practical Use Cases
1. Faster Due Diligence
Instead of reading a 100-page PDD to find the baseline logic, you can ask for a summary and the page reference immediately. This allows you to screen shortlists faster.
2. Consistent Internal Communication
When briefing different departments, you can ensure accuracy. Finance gets exact details on credit issuance and buffer pools; Legal gets direct references to standards and methodology versions.
3. Audit Readiness
Because every answer includes a link to the source, you can copy both the claim and the proof directly into your internal evidence packs.
Availability & Demo
ChatPDD is available now for all customers. If you want to test the tool yourself without signing in, you can try it on our two public demo projects:
How to try it: Open one of the links above, click on the Chat button and ask your first question to the documentation.
